Bede on Design Video Series - Aircraft designer Jim Bede began his career on the F-4 Phantom. Since then he has designed several aircraft including the popular BD-4, BD-5, and BD-10 jet. This series of VHS video tapes which have been produced by EAA cover 7 phases of aircraft design and the many decisions to be made by the designer.

As someone with little mathematical background, I found Jim Bede's videos easy to understand and quite interesting. My best description is that they provide clarity to the concepts that are described in technical detail in other publications. For the new or aspiring designer, these videos are a great first step and will clearly explain the choices available along with their benefits and compromises. These videos will get you thinking in the right directions and provide the knowledge necessary for the next steps.
